Christmas in Connemara
Christmas has started in Roundstone with the arrival of Mark Grehan’s annual Christmas wreaths for the three terraced front doors and Keith’s lit window boxes. We are proud to work with Mark, recently listed in the Financial Times How To Spend It Magazine as one of the best florists in the world.
Mark designed our landscaped garden and outdoor space. He stayed true to the natural flora and fauna of Connemara and integrated excavated local stone into the walls and facade.
The annual Roundstone Christmas Market took place in the Roundstone Community Hall on 6 December from 1pm to 4pm. Local traders offered arts, crafts, photography and Christmas gifts.
Christmas in Clifden continues until Christmas Eve. It is the ideal time to stay, slow down, shop and support local businesses. Every purchase helps local makers and protects regional traditions.
Within the Village Community Engagement
November brought opportunities to welcome new guests and partners from across the region.
- November 12 – Within the Village hosted the Clifden Arts Festival committee in the Bog Cotton House for their post event debrief. We were delighted to provide the complimentary meeting space and refreshments including fresh baked scones by Anne and freshly brewed Calandar coffee
- November 14-15 – Within The Village welcomed 50 new guests to a two night pop up meal experience in collaboration with Bog & Thunder and chef Aisling Moore from Goldie restaurant. Guests included a number of local businesses from Clifden and around the region including Sunnybank House, Guys in Clifden, Whistlestop Gifts, Ballynahinch Castleand Bank of Ireland. We also welcomed regional and national ‘Foodies’ including Danny Barry from Ballynahinch, the owners of Little Fish in Cleggan, Ali Dunworth and Dee Laffan.
- November 20 – Within the Village hosted the Christmas in Clifden fundraiser winter wreath workshop in the Lichen and Bog Cotton Houses. Participants travelled from Galway, Clifden, Oughterard, Dublin and Roundstone.
