"Staying at 'Within the Village' made Connemara feel different for me.. the history and vernacular of the building is felt with a super comtemporary respectful re-do which honours the unique location with feeling and taste. It made me experience Roundstone afresh.. from an early walk to the pier where the fishermen just came in off the sea to the walk from the village to dogs bay by the coast and then breakfast with views of the bay by the fire in the space.. it was magical and in the winter too which made it sweeter still."

"I had the pleasure to tour and stay at Within the Village on an end of year trip to Roundstone, meeting some agent partners and laying eyes on some favoured hotels and restaurants. A late November trip to Connemara provided me the opportunity to visit Roundstones newest bespoke accommodation Within the Village. Nestled in the heart of tranquility, this charming retreat is a testament to the perfect blend of modern comfort and rustic charm. I look forward to offering Within the Village to clients who are keen on experiencing an authentic village life stay, without compromising on their accommodation needs."

"When we walked in the door at Within The Village our son said, "It feels like home." And that's exactly how we felt our whole time staying in the Bog Cotton suite. The self catering apartments are both beautifully designed and elegantly curated, making you feel both pampered and at home. After spending a day exploring Connemara, it feels wonderful to return to such a warm and inviting space. It's so much more personal than staying at a hotel, and we can't wait to come back!"

"In travel, especially these days, the honest exchange of the human experience can be hard to
find. Strange, as travel is an invitation to interact with other cultures and communities, but oftentimes walls are built around oneself in the name of comfort or security. I am talking about
walled-in resorts and luxury hotels that feel disconnected from the place they inhabit. Last
November my family and I flew from Toronto to Ireland with a few missions driving us, the main
drive being to stay a few nights at Within the Village, in the coastal Connemara town Roundstone.
I had spent years visiting Roundstone, mostly on the back of a push bike midday guiding groups of
clients in and around the coast, stopping for lunch at O'dowds, a cup of tea with Tim Robinson to
purchase some maps, and then on we would pedal, and the village always stuck in my mind. I was
curious to hear about Within the Village as soon as I heard the first whispers that the project was in
the works. So as soon as it was open and possible to come over, I wanted to be there, to see and feel and experience the place, hoping and dreaming that it would help capture that sense of the village I had felt so many times passing through. November isn't known as a heavy travel month for
Ireland."

"November turns out to be the best kept secret in Ireland weather. There must have been over 50
rainbows, the side light from the horizontal sun makes for water color looks, it was stunning and
gorgeous and the winter has yet to set. The summer season businesses are all shut so one must keep that in mind, but it is like being at the actors party after a broadway show, an immediate, can't-help- but have honest interaction, the show is over and the real life day to day is omnipresent. And this is the promise Within the Village delivers, real human interaction, real village life, all the while having your own apt that feels integrated into the place for you to sleep each night. My family and I felt a part of a place, not visiting or watching, we felt immersed, and that made all the difference. The art in the rooms from Dorothy Cross and Cliodhna Prendergast, plates and cups locally made, scones delivered in the mornings, it doesn't feel like a hotel, there is no theater to it, it is landed directly in the village and the name is perfect, it is Within, cbrassed, held. I wanted to thank you and the team for that, for helping me finally feel that in Roundstone, it was a place I had been trying to feel for a long time."

EXCELLENT TRIPADVSIOR RATING

5 Star Luxury

5 Star Luxury. I recently stayed in the beautiful Kelp Suite with 2 of our couple friends and to say that we spent 2 days in pure luxury is an understatement. The whole experience from Andy the concierge greeting us on our arrival to the fresh baked scones delivered each morning was above and beyond any other self catering accommodation I have stayed. Everything one needed for a weekend away was provided for within the Suite. The comfort of the design and interiors were that of a 5 Star Hotel with the added benefit of having a lounge area to relax with our friends by the stove fire. The location was perfect, in the middle of the beautiful quaint village of Roundstone. Within walking distance to the restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and playground.

We are already planning our next trip!

I went here with a group of friends in January. The place was fab, the attention to detail was amazing, the art, the bed linen and decor was so beautiful! We stayed in 3 bedroom house. The beds were so comfy. We brought our own breakfast. We ate dinner in O'Dowds. We went hiking in Mamean and sea swimming at Dog's Bay. We are already planning our next trip.

A beautiful place to stay.

Had a great relaxing stay at Within the Village. Roundstone and the surrounds are such a beautiful place to visit, and this is centred right in the village and perfect to access beaches, walks and towns nearby.
The decor is beautiful, so much thought has been put into it, and it’s great to see the work and products of so many local craftspeople and artists.
Andy could not have looked after me better, full of tips, advice and lots of nice touches, like fresh scones and brown bread! Communication in the lead-up was also excellent.
Roundstone has a lovely selection of shops, cafes and friendly pubs (Kings Bar!).

Discover Our Townhouses

Each of our Five Townhouses are different and range in size, configuration and front door access. They all have something very unique and special to offer our guests and even we find it hard to choose a favourite! The crooked walls and floors you will find in some of the old renovated houses add character and charm to the building.
